A runner died whereas collaborating in a race at Walt Disney World over the weekend, park {officials} confirmed to USA TODAY. 

The Orlando Sentinel and native Fox affiliate report that an unidentified runner in a 5K race collapsed on the course and died.

“We’re deeply saddened by this heartbreaking loss, and our ideas and sympathies stay with the runner’s household and family members all through this tough time,” Walt Disney World Resort consultant Andrea Finger stated in an announcement to USA TODAY. 

No additional details about the runner’s identification was instantly out there. 

Thursday by Sunday marks the theme park’s annual Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, which invitations runners to race by Disney World early within the morning in a half marathon, 10Ok, 5K, or meter sprint races for teenagers.
